Swim With Humpback Whales in Tonga

11–18 July 2026 · Limited to 7 guests

Each year, humpback whales gather in the warm, protected waters of Tonga to give birth and nurture their young.
During this short season, respectful in-water encounters become possible — offering the rare opportunity to quietly swim alongside completely wild whales, entirely on their terms.

Why this experience is different?

Tonga remains one of the most meaningful wildlife experiences I’ve ever had.
Time in the water with wild humpback whales is quiet, slow, and completely
on their terms. These are the moments that stay with people long after the
journey ends. With only seven guests on each departure, this week is designed to be calm, personal, and deeply immersive. For many, it becomes one of the most unforgettable experiences of their lives.
I’d love to share it with you.

Your Host

I’m Alex Kydd, an Australian ocean photographer with a background in marine biology and years spent working in remote marine environments.

Tonga is a place I’ve returned to many times, and hosting small whale-swim groups here has become one of the most meaningful parts of my work.
My role throughout the week is simple: to create a calm, supportive space where a small group of people can experience something truly special in the ocean.
